Birthday Fun Weekend

What a fun weekend we had. We celebrated Kayla's birthday for 2 days. It began on Friday with my family. We had just a small gathering, which we really enjoyed because we could all relax and play together. Kayla finally got the American Girl Doll that she has been waiting for. Her name is Mia and she is an ice skater.

Saturday, which happened to be her actual birthday was filled with some of her favorite things: playing soccer and partying with friends. When Kayla arrived at her soccer game she announced that she was going for 8 goals since she was 8 years old. She give this a great effort, however she fell short (she scored 3 goals). The first goal was the best. She was so determined at the kick off that she took the ball and ran directly to the goal-scoring within the first 20 seconds.

The afternoon was busy with her dog party. The kids all seemed to have a great time adopting a dog, playing games, eating, and playing outside (what a beautiful day). Kayla is so thankful for all of the wonderful gifts she received and for all of the fun her friends had with her. She told us it was one of the best birthday parties ever.

It sounds like we both had a busy weekend! It's fun (and sad) to see them grow into kids that they are! It looks like you had a fun day Kayla, Josh will have to call you, and you can swap your birthday stories. Happy Birthday

Thanks for inviting Calli to Kayla's 8th birthday party! She had a great time, and really enjoys her new adopted pet, Rusty. She had a fun time sharing him and her experience of pet adopting with her third grade class today. Thanks again!
