Kayla the Artist


Kayla's Kokopelli Story was choosen to be displayed at the District Art Fair.
This artwork has a lot of meaning behind it. Kokopelli (the man) is a god who follows the star at night inorder to find the field to play his flute in. When he plays his flute the corn stalks grow taller. This story dates back to the Ancient Pueblo People (AD 750)
bird - freedom
tadpoles and turtle - symbols from the caves
star - shows that Kokopelli comes out a night to do his work
border - symbols from cave walls that are important in helping them grow their crops
thumbprint - signature because they didn't have any names
