Kayla's girl scout troop enjoyed a sleepover at the Minnesota Zoo. We were treated with behind the scene tour of the shark tank, dolphins, and the kitchen. The evening ended with sleeping in front of the dolphin tank. It was a special wake-up call to see the dolphins swimming around right in front of us.
We learned about dolphins and their behavior. Our dolphin tour ended with the girls standing up by the glass waiting for the dolphins to splash them. They loved it. (look closely at their faces). I think they would have stayed there all day if we would have let them.
We got a private dolphin training session.
Dolphins waving good-bye
We toured the back of the shark tank. The only place you can view the sea turtles in behind the tank, because these turtles are injured and can not dive.
Lauren gave us a tour of the kitchen, which was filled with many surprises-fruit, veggies, meal worms, chicks, rats, and horse meat. The girls were pretty grossed out, but it was interesting at the same time to see what the zoo keepers feed to the animals.
Good Night Girls
Waking up to dolphins swimming by us.
We ended our day with a tour of the zoo and the bird show.
