I was so happy that I could spend one of Ashley's last days as a kindergartner, with her at Springbrook Nature Center. Ashley loved the adventure that we set off on. Each pair of students needed a net and a small bowl. Their job was to scoop seaweed out of the pond and into the bowl, then the girls needed to swish the seaweed around the bowl to get all of the bugs off of the weeds. Finally, they tossed the seaweeds back into the pond. It was so cool to see all of the creatures they discovered. After we caught as many creatures as we could, we headed back to the building to look at the creatures under a microscope. The kids loved to see the creatures zoom across the screen. Ashley's favorite was the dragonfly larva (did you know it spends 7 years underwater before emerging as a dragonfly.)
Thanks for a fun day, Ashley. I love spending time with you.
